I ♡ NY

In those difficult times we send all our love to all the victims of hurricane Sandy.
This pin was a gift from my parents. They've been in New York City in 1990 and I kept it ever since.
It's vintage now :)

Week End Findings

So here are the findings of this week end: the winter that is now installed in Berlin influnenced my findings a lot! I mostly got holiday season ornaments. It was a great pleasure for me as they remind me a lot of what was hanging in our chrismas tree when I was a child. I also found a Lisa Larson ceramic.

 Have a great week!

California dreamin'

Look how this fantastic German cart table and clock fit into the delicate home interior of C. who is living in San Francisco, my favorite place on earth. Thank you so much for the pictures C.!

And I know it is kind of a cliche but I can't help thinking of the Mamas and the Papas singing in their beautifull (now) vintage clothes :)

And here is some more super good mood music:
Have a great day!

Excuse my French goes to Hong Kong

So it has been quite a while that I didn't post anything on the blog because it was quite a busy period: I have a big order of 15 pairs of "Petits Petons" the baby shoes I make myself under the label Excuse my French. They are going to be featured in Hong Kong in a design and designer shop on this fantastic display stand we sold at öppning. I'm so happy, I think they look so fine displayed like this!
Have a great week!

Check this out!

Isn't this gymnast great?
Available here :)

The song is from my favorite French artist named Ridan. He has got this beautifull slightly croaky voice and he is such a poet. The song is called "Ulysse".
Check the complete song out here:

Newcomers At Home

Here are two new pictures I have now in front of me when working.
A lovely bouquet and a painting from Claire Lier. Both have amazing colors and go so well together i think, although they are not from same periods and styles.
I love to be surrounded with a lot of nice and colorfull things. It makes my working place fun and cosy. Remember also these little buddies?

Week End Findings

Here are the findings I made this week end. It was such a pleasure to go on the fleemarket! Not just because of the amazing items I found, but also because the weather was so nice! It was exactly the same weather as when we first came to Berlin 5 years ago, when we fell in love with this city: an incredibly blue sky with some chubby white clouds and a light breeze.
I also made some great encounters on the fleemarket. The people there were in such a good mood, I guess we all take it easy for the Indian summer.

(click on the picture to enlarge)

1. Beautifull vases by manufacturer Scheurich,
2. Danish teak candle holders,
4. Arabia Finland dishes and gravy boat,
6. salt and peper shakers,
8. an amazing teak wood handcarved hand clenching the thumb.
Check out the shop if you wish to purchase them!

In German there is this expression "die Daume drücken", which means "to clench the thumb". Because here in Germany to bring luck we don't cross fingers, we clench our thumb :) So this hand is basically a lucky charm!

I clench my thumb for us all to have a great week!
Cheers

Newcomer at Home

Here is my new Hornsea teapot with Charisma pattern. It comes directly from England.
Isn't it just beautifull? I love it as it is so elegant and handy (it goes in the dishwasher). I completely stopped to drink coffee and replaced it with green tea which is also healthier :)
Have a great day!

Ivan Lackovic-Croata

Today is the start of the new school year for our daughter, and also the end of summer vacations. So we are in fine shape and happy to be back to work!
During the vacation i posted about our latest Newcomer at home? Remember?

I just found four prints of Ivan Lackovic-Croata, this artist I love, representing the four seasons. The prints are framed and signed. And they are now in the shop :)
Have a great week!

Newcomer at home

Here is the newest addition to our home: a lovely framed reproduction of a painting. It represents a bush of forget-me-not flowers.

I didn't know when I bought it, that it is from a famous painter, I just loved it at first sight.
It is called "Four season: Spring" and is from Croatian naive painter Ivan Lackovic-Croata and his works are in private and museum collections all around the world.

When I searched the web i found it even on a japanese blog.

Have a great day!

Mission to Paris

This week I was in Paris. We used to live there until four and a half years ago, when we moved to Berlin. But we left behind lots of stuff that have been waiting for us all this time.

My mission to Paris was to clear everything and among a mountain of things, I found some really cool treasures ! Some beautifull vintage items that we have been purchasing all along our life in Paris. At that time we had no idea that we were eventually going to open a vintage shop !
So I brought them back with me in the plane. I stuffed my suitcase up to 22.9 kg (the maximum authorized was 23 kg). Unfortunatly I couldn't bring everything back, but most of the nicest pieces.
They will all be soon in the shop, check them out !

Newcomers at home

Three little buddies on my desk that watch me work...
... and a vintage doll cupboard in our baby's room.
It's so lovely outside, handpainted, looking so bohemian.

And it is gorgeous inside, with a purple psychedelic pattern.
