biking in berlin

berlin is definitely a great city to bike. there are a great variety of bikes, bike lanes almost everywhere, and also a lot of places to rest :)

street party

every year, at this period, there is a party in our street (i mean the whole street): fleemarket in the day for kids and grown ups to sell their toys, clothes and shoes. and at night, people bring the tables in the street for barbecue and pic nics with the neighbours. honestly i love this and even more because i find this togetherness so unusual and unexpected in such a big city like berlin.

Bösebrücke

here is a picture of the Bösebrücke memorial, on Bornholmerstrasse: it was the first breakthrough in the Berlin wall that ended up with its fall in 1989. on the picture you can see huge pictures of people going through at that time, and in the background a remain of the wall and the famous bridge Bösebrücke, that the tram and the cars can now use freely.

from today

today i was stunned by this building's entry: it is so vintage and looks so much like a gateway to a parallel world! and we had a lovely lunch.

week end findings

i've been to mauerpark this sunday and found a lovely nittsjö sweden ceramic bear and an orange kitchen timer. i hadn't been there in a long time and realized how incredibly popular and crowded it has become. however it is now in jeopardy... people are trying to save it against realty developers

david bowie in berlin

today we took a day off and went to Martin-Gropius-Bau and see the David Bowie exhibition. it was an amazing moment (lots of music, pictures, paintings, history, costumes). the pictures here are from the building which is great, of course we couldn't take pictures inside the exhibition itself, but you can have a sneak peek here (go down on the page there is a video):

strolling around wedding

this morning i've been stolling around wedding, which is a district of berlin, and quite the opposite of the one i went to last sunday!

upcycling

these are pictures i took in 'cafe Hubert'. look at the great upcycling they made there! the ceiling light made of vintage arrows, some vintage wooden crates for wine bottles and books storage, and a "deer" trophy made of reclaimed wood.

europe

today there is a european election and i went to the french embassy to vote. so here i am, in a part of berlin where i seldom go, one of the most touristic ones: brandenburgen tor.

one day in Berlin

today i went through the stadium at mauerpark, looking soo vintage by the way (and actually is), had lunch at Fast Rabbit, an awesome vegan place and enjoyed a lot all the green spaces around in such a big city like Berlin. wow... i love Berlin!

this is a lovely nightstand that reminds me so much of my childhood! and some pictures of the snow that has finally arrived in berlin :) until now it did not feel like real winter. now it does!
